Who am I?
That’s a big question.
I’m a mom. I’m a teacher. I’m a daughter, a sister, a friend.
Mom and teacher tend to have the starring roles in my story. They aren’t the only things that define me, but both take center-stage more often than not.
I’ve been teaching elementary school for over two decades and have written an education blog for Middleweb.com for many years. I’ve been a mom for nineteen of those years. I’ve been a writer ever since I was a kid.
Deciding to become a teacher was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. And the gift of being the mother of two, beautiful, teenage chuckleheads has given me an added perspective about life at school, the view from the other side of the parent-teacher conference table.
Both roles are a big part of who I am. Both have given me my own, personal insights and opinions on life, inside and outside of the classroom.
Thanks for reading.
