Who am I?
That’s a big question.
I’m a mom. I’m a retired elementary school teacher. I’m a daughter, a sister, a friend.
Mom and teacher had the starring roles in my story until I left the classroom a few years ago.
I taught elementary school for over two decades and wrote an education blog for Middleweb.com, a unique and varied website for educators, for many years. I’ve been a mom for twenty-five. I’ve been a writer ever since I can remember.
Deciding to become a teacher was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. The gift of being the mom of two, beautiful chuckleheads has given me an added perspective about life at school, the view from the other side of the parent-teacher conference table, if you will…and beyond.
Both roles are still a big part of who I am today. Both have given me my own, personal insights and opinions on life, inside and outside of the classroom.
Thanks for reading.
